The Sophomore Year Plan
The key to a successful junior year--the most important year in the college admissions process--is having a strong sophomore year. During sophomore year, students will have more opportunities to enroll in advanced or honors classes, such as Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), or College Prep (CP) courses. Students should take full advantage of these opportunities this year as well as seek online learning opportunities, if necessary
Students should also seek leadership positions this year as well, and increase their involvement in club and/or extracurricular activities. Enterprising students may also wish to start leadership initiatives outside of school by focusing on community service or independent research projects. Now that students have one year of high school behind them, they should start thinking more about how to align their high school careers with what they plan to study in college.
The Sophomore Year Plan focuses on helping students engage with extracurricular activities as well as supporting leadership development. The Sophomore Year Plan also advises students in the following areas:
This service plan consists of 60 session hours if starting in the fall semester, and 50 session hours if starting in the spring.
